Orley House - Support Living Accommodation
We were fortunate enough to be welcomed to Orley House earlier this week. Orley house for those unaware has been operating for some 24 years, with courageous leader Yvonne at the forefront. Designated as a support living accomodation, Yvonne and the team manage care for the residents 24/7 365 days a year.
The residents, or fellow friends as they refer to themselves are identified as living with a mental health illness or disability. We’re very proud that say we became aware of this facility as Project Manager Elmo Allan volunteers his time here, and he shared the warming story and struggles that the team face everyday.
Though they recieve minimal support from many governing bodies, we knew that it was a cause worth assisting. Through installing new LED lighting we were able to reduce their overall costings, and minimise complications faced by a resident that suffered with the existing flickering lights. We also assisted by installing fans and replacing the distibution board. While it may seem inconsequential to some, for the residents at Orley House it made a huge impact.
