CE Group: New Energex Standard
As an industry partner, CE Group strive to stay ahead with proactive forward-thinking practices. This is highlighted in the new adaptations we’re implementing due to the recent industry change. Energy Queensland recently rolled out changes to the Queensland Electricity Connection Manual (v4) which came into effect as of 21 Feb 2024. This new standard may have implications to your work. Our team have already commenced rolling out switchboards to adhere to the new specifications. Some of the changes imposed include:
- Changes to metering panels
- Changes to CT metering
- Changes to metering manual (it becoming national)
- Metering spatial requirements
- Access to metering panels
To address these changes, we have started to:
- Be more proactive in the early design phase with clients
- Apply a higher level of safety standard to our manufacturing processes
- Encourage all stakeholders to look into our arcSAFE Switchboards to address the cost measures with the potential need to have external switchboards over internal (CT Metering changes)
- Actively discuss arc flash mitigation strategies and improvement of safety measures
Our internal engineering, switchboard manufacturing and installation teams have been working collaboratively to bring solutions to our clients regarding the changes. This is critical for those involved in the utilities and water body authorities.
If you find that you have been impacted or believe you may be impacted by these changes, please reach out to our team who can provide a specific solution for you.
