Ichthys Onshore Operating Facility
Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

Project Details

CE Group’s team was deployed to assist Veolia Energy in completing the Mechanical Electrical, BMS, and automated control applications of the Ichthy’s Gas Facility. This engagement followed the liquidation of the previously contracted company, leaving Veolia in need of an experienced electrical mining contractor to bring the project back on track. The gas plant’s operations facility consisted of a variety of buildings, including a warehouse, hazardous chemical storage area, cafeteria, research and development space, laboratories, and the plant’s main control room.

CE Group’s scope of work focused on the control and automation of the facility’s mechanical and BMS operations. Specifically, the project involved the design, switchboard installation, cabling, testing, and installation of devices, alongside project management and commissioning. Each aspect of the work adhered to the site operator’s (JKC) stringent mine-specific requirements, ensuring the highest safety and operational standards were met.

Additionally, CE Group’s team provided valuable leadership and direction, enabling Veolia to successfully achieve critical project milestones. By stepping in at a crucial point, CE Group delivered a solution that brought the project to completion on time and within the rigorous framework set by the industry.

As a leading electrical mining contractor, CE Group is proud to have contributed to the world’s fourth-largest construction project. This involvement underscores the company’s capability to take on complex industrial challenges and provide innovative, high-quality solutions. CE Group would like to extend its gratitude to Veolia for this unique opportunity and looks forward to future collaborations in delivering exceptional results.
