Project Details
The Hail Creek High Voltage Reticulation Upgrade project was awarded to CE Group due to their exceptional previous work on-site. This project further demonstrated CE Group’s capabilities as a reliable electrical mining contractor. The project showcased the wide range of services CE Group can provide in mining environments.
The scope of work involved the supply and installation of 22,000 V cable and reticulation. This upgrade replaced the existing above-ground infrastructure, reinstating it underground through a conduit and pit system. Additionally, the project required installing two new 2,000 kVA Kiosk Transformer/RMU units. CE Group managed the civil works, including concrete slab preparation, trenching, and pit excavation to support the installation.
Further, CE Group’s team designed, manufactured, and installed the re-configured DB28 Low Voltage Distribution Board. This customization ensured the board suited the new power distribution systems and met the specific needs of the mine.
Notably, the High and Low Voltage change-over work was completed in a single workday. This task presented a significant challenge, as it occurred on Boxing Day, the only available time for the mine to isolate its High Voltage System. CE Group’s team effectively replaced the HV Feeder Circuit Breaker, ensuring minimal disruption to mine operations.
The project was successfully completed within all operational constraints, highlighting CE Group’s commitment to safety and efficiency. Moreover, CE Group achieved this without any “Lost Time Injuries,” further reinforcing their reputation as a leading electrical mining contractor. This successful completion earned praise from mine operators and showcased CE Group’s ability to handle complex, high-stakes mining projects.
CE Group’s expertise in delivering high-quality electrical services for mining operations has once again proven invaluable, particularly in challenging environments.
