ACC Boning Room Upgrade
Brisbane, Queensland

Project Details

CE Group, a leading electrical industrial contractor, tackled the task of designing and constructing the electrical services for a new Beef Boning Room. The project required swift action to meet the client’s strict shutdown schedule. With only sixty days to complete the work, including just sixteen days to dismantle the existing setup and commission the new facility, timing was critical. Precision and efficiency were key, given the urgency and complexity involved.

The CE Group team immediately got to work. They expertly fitted and terminated new remote I/O panels, secured cable trays, and installed cables in the ceiling space. This prepared the way for the stainless steel droppers. Once the droppers were mounted, they connected all cables to the pre-installed field junction boxes and MCCs. Every connection was thoroughly checked and tested to ensure reliability and optimal performance.

The project also involved an Allen Bradley PLC, which had controlled the existing Boning Room and other plant areas. CE Group modified the PLC to suit the new application while keeping production in other areas running smoothly. They manufactured and installed a new MCC, refurbishing the old MCCs to work seamlessly with the updated design. This approach enhanced the system’s overall efficiency.

Challenges were inevitable. Maintaining uninterrupted production in areas sharing the same MCCs and PLC was no small feat. The absence of detailed electrical drawings for the existing installation added complexity. Yet, CE Group met the project deadlines with confidence. The team exceeded client expectations, achieving the targeted production quantities within the first 24 hours of operation. CE Group’s dedication to quality, client satisfaction, and excellence shone through every aspect of the project.
