Project Details
The ANGAU Memorial Hospital serves as a critical healthcare provider for Lae and the broader Momase region. The Australian Government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is collaborating with the Papua New Guinea Government to redevelop this essential facility. This redevelopment is a key component of Australia’s ongoing development cooperation program in Papua New Guinea, aimed at enhancing healthcare services.
CE Group, an experienced electrical contractor in PNG, was contracted to handle the electrical services for this major redevelopment. The project scope included various vital areas, such as Birthing, Children’s Outpatients, Special Care, Paediatrics, Imaging, and Pathology. Furthermore, CE Group was responsible for the installation of power distribution systems, communications, access control, nurse call systems, and emergency lighting. In addition, the company installed lightning protection systems and exit lighting to ensure full safety compliance.
Moreover, CE Group utilized an Expatriate-led National Labour model, integrating both expatriate expertise and local workers. This model not only allowed for efficient project execution but also helped develop local skills. As a result, CE Group successfully integrated new technologies with outdated infrastructure, further proving its adaptability. The team focused heavily on training and developing the national workforce throughout the project, ensuring long-term benefits.
Additionally, CE Group’s commitment to safety was evident in the project’s Zero Lost Time Injury (LTI) outcome. Despite the challenging social, economic, and geographical conditions, the company maintained high safety standards. Consequently, this result reflects CE Group’s dedication to safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Overall, the ANGAU Memorial Hospital redevelopment is a testament to CE Group’s capabilities as a leading electrical contractor in PNG, delivering complex projects with exceptional safety and efficiency.
