The project, undertaken by CE Group, a leading electrical mining contractor, involved the installation of four belt filter presses to complement the four presses already in operation at the Adani Mine’s Coal Preparation Plant (CPP). The new presses were introduced to enhance the plant’s overall efficiency and processing capabilities. Moreover, this initiative was designed to ensure that the facility could continue operating without disruptions, even during periods of increased demand.
Within the Motor Control Centre (MCC), a wide range of critical tasks was completed. These tasks included the fitting of 29 motor control cells, the integration of variable speed drives (VSDs), and the installation of various programmable logic controller (PLC) cards. Additionally, all associated control and power wiring was meticulously carried out. Throughout the process, attention to detail was maintained to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
Furthermore, fieldwork formed a significant component of the project and was executed with great care. This phase involved the installation of cable access ladders, the wiring and termination of Local Control Station (LCS) units, motors, lighting, instruments, and control valves. Free-issue items, such as MCC motor cells, variable speed drives, PLC cards, LCS units, instruments, and valve blocks, were provided and carefully integrated into the system. In particular, these components were incorporated seamlessly to enhance the plant’s reliability.
Despite the challenges presented, CE Group ensured that the project was delivered on schedule. To minimise disruptions, thorough planning and coordination with stakeholders were prioritised. Moreover, the use of advanced components allowed for significant improvements in infrastructure, thereby enhancing long-term reliability and performance.
