Project Details
CE Group, a leading electrical industrial contractor, was engaged by JBS Australia to deliver a comprehensive, turn-key solution for replacing and upgrading the existing Motor Control Centre (MCC) for JBS Townsville’s Kill Floor operation. This critical project required the consolidation and upgrading of the plant’s PLC and Motor Control equipment, which were originally spread across separate areas of the facility. CE Group’s solution involved integrating these systems into one centralised Motor Control Centre, significantly improving maintenance efficiency and operational reliability.
As part of the detailed scope of works, CE Group meticulously designed and engineered a streamlined solution that would meet the operational demands of the plant. The consolidation into a single MCC provided ease of access for maintenance teams and reduced the complexity of future system upgrades. The entire project was scheduled within a four-week shutdown period to minimise disruptions to JBS operations.
In just two weeks, CE Group successfully removed and replaced the existing MCC, installed a new remote Human Machine Interface (HMI), and tested and commissioned the system. The team’s expertise and strategic planning ensured that the Kill Floor could resume safe operations well ahead of the original schedule. This efficiency allowed additional maintenance tasks to be performed during JBS Townsville’s annual shutdown period, further enhancing the plant’s long-term functionality.
Through this project, CE Group reinforced its position as a trusted electrical industrial contractor, delivering a high-quality solution on time and under tight deadlines. By integrating advanced control systems and leveraging their experience, CE Group ensured that the project was completed efficiently and to the highest industry standards.
