LWIA Switchroom Upgrade
Slacks Creek, Queensland

Project Details

The LWIA (Loganwter Alliance) Project involved the construction of a new Motor Control Centre (MCC) for the Sewage Pump Station (SPS), a key infrastructure upgrade. To support this new system, a new demountable switchroom building was required to house the Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) for the 375kW pumps. CE Group, a renowned electrical water infrastructure contractor, collaborated closely with trusted partners, Engineering Applications and SCADA Engineering, to successfully execute both the civil and control elements of the project.

Through this collaboration, the project provided our client with enhanced operational flexibility for the pump station. Additionally, it ensured the ability to accommodate future operational changes as the population in the Logan area continues to grow. The successful implementation of this project underlines CE Group’s expertise in delivering reliable solutions for water infrastructure systems.

One of the key challenges was constructing the new 3200A MCC. Furthermore, close coordination with all stakeholders was required to ensure the successful transition to the new system. The switch-over from the old switchboard to the new one was carried out efficiently, with minimal disruptions to the plant’s ongoing operational activities.

This project once again highlighted CE Group’s capabilities as a leading electrical water infrastructure contractor. The team’s ability to execute such complex work, while maintaining operational continuity for the client, further strengthened our reputation for excellence in the water infrastructure sector.
