Roles Hill Reservoir

Queensland Urban Utilities required the installation of three Flow Meters at Roles Hill Reservoir. This was essential so the reservoir could be taken offline for critical maintenance and roof repair work. CE Group, an experienced electrical water infrastructure services contractor, was engaged to handle this complex project.

LMWQCC Secondary Clarifiers

CE Group is proud to be a part of the further works at Icon Water’s Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre. Demonstrating a strong history of works on the Lower Molonglo Site, CE Group were engaged to carry out the electrical works associated with Icon Water’s Secondary Clarifiers, for its client Downer.

CE Group’s scope included provision of switchboards, civil works including large pulling pits and switchboard platforms and culverts, installation of cable support and cabling, instrumentation and commissioning.

This project also included automating flow control into each clarifier and installation of turbidity monitoring of each clarifier’s effluent.

Wilton Gas Metering Station

CE Group was engaged by Jemena to provide the electrical installation for a new natural gas metering station located in Wilton, NSW.

The new metering facility was the final stage in the Eastern Gas Pipeline project for Jemena and supplied natural gas to approximately 1/3rd of Sydney’s gas customers. This involved constructing the new metering facility to provide gas to two existing metering facilities in the area.

APLNG Curtis Island Permanent Buildings

CE Group, an experienced electrical mining contractor, was contracted by Leighton Contractors to deliver electrical services for 10 permanent buildings at the Australia Pacific LNG (APLNG) project.

SAG Ball Feeder Mill, Lihir

Located in the New Ireland Province of Lihir in Papua New Guinea, CE Group executed Electrical and Instrumentation works on the Semi Autogenous Grinding Mill’s Ball Feeder project.

This project automated the addition of grinding media to the HGO1, HGO2 & FGO SAG mills to enable a consistent ball charge to be maintained within each mill, maximising grinding circuit throughput and ultimately increasing efficiency of the operation. In conjunction with risk reduction in manual handling labour, the project introduced innovations and technology not seen in the region, and continued rollout of initiatives from other Newcrest mine sites.

BMA Goonyella Horizontal Belt Filter Installation

Goonyella Riverside Coal Handling Preparation Plant upgrade involved the upgrade of three conveyor drives, motor control centre extension and installation of the 4th belt filter.

Goonyella Riverside Mine is a large open cut coking coal mine in the Bowen Basin. The coal is well known for its great coking characteristics. Much of the coal was such a high grade, the wash plants were often programmed to add ash to meet the contracted export quality targets.

Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Stacker Installation

Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal is located at Hay Point, near Mackay , Queensland. The facility commenced operation in 1983, and has established itself as Queensland’s premier coal export facility. The terminal is an integral part of Australia’s coal supply chain, ensuring reliability and continuity of coal supply from the Bowen Basin coal fields to the world export market. With an uncompromising dedication to ensuring the safety of its people and the surrounding community, coupled with an unparalleled persistence to achieve operational excellence, DBCT P/L has been reliably exporting coal around the world for 30 years.

Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal Management (DBCTM) announced the requirement to replace an existing rail-mounted stacker machine with a new, similar machine as part of an ongoing program of works to sustain the operation of their existing facility. The existing stacker (ST1) was originally installed as part of the initial development of the terminal in the early 1980’s and is now considered to have reached the end of its usable life.

GRM Coal Reclaimer and Stacker Upgrade

Goonyella Riverside Mine (GRM) is a coal mine located in the Bowen Basin approximately 30km north of Moranbah, and 190km southwest of Mackay. The Raw Coal Reclaimer and Raw Coal Stacker at Goonyella Riverside Mine is over 30 years old and much of both machines do not meet latest Standards, Codes and BMA specifications. In effort to rectify this and extend the machines’ operational life, the machines were to undergo an overhaul of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

The project required significant works during the shutdown. The scope of work encompassed all E&I activities and Mechanical rectification on both machines, which included the following:

  • Replace existing switchrooms including temporary works to allow removal
  • Replace travel motors, remove existing travel brakes and replace isolators and cabling
  • Re-connect existing cables to new switchrooms
  • Provide modification to platforms and handrails to accommodate new switchrooms
  • Testing and quality assurance
  • Provide assistance for commissioning

Exxon Mobil Facility PNG
