Hayman Island – STP
The existing Hayman Island Sewerage treatment plant is located on the south-western side of the island off the coast of Central Queensland and required to be upgraded to meet the high standards of the resort and the growing tourist activity on the island. CE Group were contracted to design, implement and install a new electrically automated sewerage treatment control system.
CE Group’s engineering team were set some challenging design parameters which focused on the reduction of power consumption and environmental durability with no loss to the operation of the resort throughout the construction phase.
Maleny STP
CE Group, a leading electrical water infrastructure contractor, was contracted to manage the design and construction of the electrical and process control services for the new Maleny Sewerage Treatment Plant. This project was a significant addition to community infrastructure for Unity Water, with the development focusing on four key objectives. These objectives included delivering a safe, reliable, and robust solution, while providing value for money to the residents of Maleny.
Seqwater Chemical Dosing
The Chemical Dosing Systems Upgrade project focused on improving the chemical dosing systems at Seqwater’s West and East Bank Water Treatment Plants. As a leading electrical water infrastructure services contractor, CE Group played a key role in this significant upgrade.
Karumba Waste Water Plant
CE Group was engaged to provide the base building electrical, along with the process control and data acquisition systems. The base building works include mains installation, switchboards, generator systems and UPS supply, general light and power and lighting protection systems. CE Group designed and manufactured the switchboards within our Loganholme Head Office factory.
The Process Control System was a design and construct contract based on a functional description provided by the client. The plant automation and programming was undertaken by CE Group to industry best practice, including supply and programming of the site SCADA system.
Surat Basin WTP & STPs
The Mine Camps’ Sewerage and Water Treatment Plants are essential components of the Surat Basin’s expansion, designed to support the growing Gas Industry. The sites involved in this project included Condabri, Reedy Creek, Woleebee, Jordan, and Ruby Jo Camps, which accommodate and support workers on the gas fields. As an experienced electrical water infrastructure services contractor, CE Group was responsible for delivering key electrical services that ensured the smooth operation of these vital facilities.
Hail Creek High Voltage Reticulation Upgrade
The Hail Creek High Voltage Reticulation Upgrade project was granted to CE Group based on the high quality work previously completed on the same site, and underpins the diversity of work CE Group can deliver.
This project included the supply and installation of 22,000 V cable and reticulation to replace existing above-ground infrastructure and reinstate it underground via a conduit and pit system. The new reticulation included the installation of two (2) new 2,000kVA Kiosk Transformer / RMU Units which included the civil works for the concrete slabs, trenching and pit excavation.
Kooralbyn WTP
CE Group was awarded this project and undertook it as the principal contractor for the Design and Construction works. At the core of the project was the requirement to upgrade the plant’s control systems from several stand-alone elements, of which some were manually operated, into a distributed automated PLC / SCADA solution.
Partnerships with suitably experienced companies enabled us to perform the process and hydraulic design consultancy, as well as the mechanical design, manufacture and the commissioning of such. As part of this work brief, CE Group successfully completed the removal of the old Aeration Tower, removal and replacement of the existing asbestos water main (including dosing injection points), addition of Caustic, Alum and Chlorine Gas chemical dosing systems, automatic DN150 Filters Backwash Valving and sequencing, all alongside the control system upgrade.
Lower Molonglo Blower Install
The Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre has become a familiar home for CE Group’s ACT Operations team in recent years, and it’s strong relationship with Downer Utilities continues with the successful award of the Electrical Works contract for the LMWQCC Furnace and Exhaust Upgrade Project.
The project involves the upgrade of the Centre’s furnace and exhaust systems to ensure the facility meets regulatory submission requirements and minimises any impact on the surrounding environments. CE Group has been tasked with the supply and installation of VSDs and IO controllers, Instrumentation and all cabling and associated support systems.
Lower Molonglo Furnace Upgrade
The three existing Aeration Blowers in the Secondary Treatment Facility at Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre in Canberra, ACT had exceeded their economic life. The Project consisted of replacing each Blower and associated equipment.
Over four construction stages, the new Blowers were brought into commission, all while maintaining redundancy and the critical, continuous aeration to the treatment plant. Many challenging system cutovers were faced, including a new Fibre Optic Termination Cubicle, all having the added pressure of a 45 minute maximum shutdown time on the Blower System.
Beaudesert Water Treatment Plant
Engineering Applications engaged CE Group to supply and install a fixed stand to allow a mobile PAC (Powder Activated Carbon) trailer to be plugged in and run controlled through the plant’s existing SCADA network.
The trailer has been designed to move between sites when required and the site’s infrastructure was upgraded including the installation of new backbone cabling.
The development of the mobile trailers greatly improves asset usage throughout the existing sites, reducing capital expenditure across the network.
