Seqwater Chemical Dosing
Mt. Crosby, Queensland

Project Details

The Chemical Dosing Systems Upgrade project, aimed at enhancing Seqwater’s West and East Bank Water Treatment Plants, required significant improvements to their chemical dosing systems. As a leading electrical water infrastructure services contractor, CE Group was pivotal in executing these upgrades. The project involved the installation of 10 chemical dosing skids, each consisting of approximately 40 dosing pumps. These pumps, crucial to the operation, are now controlled by a new redundant Honeywell C200 HPC (Hybrid Process Controller) at each plant.

Furthermore, the scope of work extended beyond just the pumps. CE Group also managed the chemical makeup and batching systems, ensuring they integrated seamlessly with the control panels. These custom-built control panels, designed, documented, manufactured, and installed by CE Group, were crafted to suit the specific requirements of both water treatment facilities. This meticulous attention to detail ensured the systems functioned effectively and efficiently.

Additionally, an important aspect of the project was integrating the new equipment into Seqwater’s SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. This integration not only provided full control over the equipment but also enhanced diagnostics and allowed for critical data trending. By incorporating the SCADA system, Seqwater can now monitor and manage the dosing systems with greater accuracy and efficiency.

Moreover, CE Group ensured all project documentation adhered to Seqwater’s rigorous standards. This included following precise software development standards for both the PLC and SCADA programs, ensuring long-term reliability and ease of maintenance. The comprehensive documentation will assist in supporting ongoing operations and potential future upgrades.

Despite the project’s complexity, CE Group successfully completed the work on time, adhering to all necessary requirements. Their extensive experience as an electrical water infrastructure services contractor proved essential in delivering tailored, high-quality solutions.

The Chemical Dosing Systems Upgrade project illustrates CE Group’s ability to integrate advanced electrical systems effectively. By providing expert solutions and ensuring seamless system integration, CE Group further solidifies its standing as a trusted electrical water infrastructure services contractor, consistently supporting efficient water treatment operations.
